COASTAL TRANSFORMATION
Situated on a hill in Lorne overlooking stunning views of the Southern Ocean, this tired building needed a little love and care. Converting the garage and rumpus into a bedroom and living area, enlarging windows to capture the views and providing a raked outdoor cover to the deck, makes this house perfect for the lifestyle that Lorne promotes. This also allowed for the outdoor living to be used more as the new roof provided shelter from the southerly winds and rain. Adding a carport to the front also allows for the clients to reach the entrance without getting wet.
Once the alterations were done the whole home had a new facelift. The external cladding was replaced with a Fibre Cement lining (which also enabled insulation to be added), Roofing was redone, eaves lined and the existing concrete deck and steel was enclosed to stop further decaying from the harsh salt air. The outside of the building was also painted in a dark tone to modernise the look. Internally bathrooms were modernised, timber lining replaced with fresh plasterboard and pastel feature walls were added to make it all homely. A timber feature entry to the stair and the carport tie in the lovely lines of this beauty. Now with new double glazed windows and Bush Fire rating this house will stand the test of time.
